After almost 100 issues, the editorial team decided to call it a day. However, through the years we built up a large network in the progressive rock scene. We kept in touch with record labels, musicians, music promoters and other organizations with widespread connections in the world of progressive rock music. I felt that it would be a shame to lose all those carefully built up contacts. I could not leave it just behind. Besides that, I love the prog rock genre too much. Therefore, I decided to make a fresh start with Background Magazine on the internet. Together with our web master Arthur Haggenburg, copy editor Peter Willemsen, reviewers Erik Neuteboom, André de Waal and Martien Koolen we managed to form a new editorial team for the online magazine. Most of all, I am glad and proud that we are able to continue all the activities with which we so suddenly had to stop. May we enjoy Background Magazine online for many, many years to come.
