The Butterfly EffeX is the tenth studio album of the Belgian space rockers Quantum Fantay and again, just like their previous albums, it is a sonic instrumental journey of almost an hour. The music of Quantum Fantay is a mix of instrumental prog rock and space rock, while there are also sometimes cinematic musical passages indeed. The Butterfly EffeX opens with the longest track, the so-called epic, called Return To Xaia and this track sets the tone for the rest of the album 100% indeed. So, enjoy addictive rhythms, soaring guitar solos and melodies and other space rock musical elements galore. Phoenix is definitely more symphonic, and it even features some cello playing, while Xcelleration is the rockiest track of the entire album for sure. In fact, if you liked the previous nine albums of Quantum Fantay then you must not miss out on this one.
