The Crimson ProjeKCt is an offshoot of King Crimson featuring the three former and current King Crimson members Adrian Belew (vocals, guitar), Tony Levin (bass, Chapman Stick) and Pat Mastelotto (traps, buttons). The other three members are Markus Reuter (touch guitar), Julie Slick (bass) and Tobias Ralph (drums). This means that The Crimson ProjeKCt has a double trio line-up, just as King Crimson had during the period 1994 until 1997. The Crimson ProjeKCt took shape after a couple of music seminars in 2011 called 3 Of A Perfect Pair Camp, on which Levin's Stick Men and Belew's Power Trio played King Crimson tracks in turn.

Both trios toured with Dream Theater under the new established moniker The Crimson ProjeKCt. This live album was recorded in Tokyo in March 2013 and it obviously features the music of King Crimson. The set list mainly consists of songs from the studio albums Discipline (1981), Three Of A Perfect Pair (1984) and THRAK (1995). Larks' Tongues In Aspic, part 2 (1973) and Red (1974) are the oldest Crimson songs on this CD, but they also gloriously withstood the test of time. It's needless to say that this album sounds amazing and that it's a must have, not only for King Crimson fans, but for all devotees of timeless progressive rock music.
