Two years ago, I reviewed Mysticeti Ambassadors Part 1 (see review) from the German neo prog rockers The Ancestry Program and now I am happy, as I really liked Part 1, to review the follow up to that album which is called Of Silent Mammalia Part 2.

The ten new tracks are again a wonderful mix of classic prog rock, neo prog, retro prog, and prog metal and the more you listen to it the more you will like it, as Part 2 is a real grower. The album opens with the dark and mysterious Mysticeti Ambassadors and that one is followed by two of the highlights of this album, being Path Of Inspiration and Pangreta's Box, the latter is an almost 100% metal song and there are even some black metal screams to be heard there.

War Is Over is extremely diverse in tempo and instruments and it also features some folk influences, while Maria's Smile truly reminds me of good old Pink Floyd. Create Our Sins might be best described as jazz funk, so there is a lot to discover as a listener.

The production of this album is superb so, if you like bands like Gentle Giant, Neal Morse, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, King Crimson or Emerson, Lake & Palmer then you are in for a real treat with this third album by this Münchener prog rock band. Check it out!
